Position Summary: We are looking for a talented Android software engineer to join our technical team focused on delivering innovative health care solutions for CVS.com and other digital channels. You will be responsible for developing, unit testing, and supporting software projects throughout all phases of the software development life cycle.

The Senior UI Android Developer is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Work closely with the team, product management, and QA to design and develop Android applications.
  • Develop and perform unit testing of your software. Prototype solutions as needed
  • Document work to allow for easy hand-off to other teams.
  • Build scalable and fault-tolerant solutions
  • Integrate with overlapping cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor junior UI engineers. Develop solutions to real world problems and provide effort and cost estimates.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience with Android, Java and UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Hands on experience using Android SDK and Android Studio.
  • Hands on experience with Web Services, SOAP, REST , JQuery and JSON to connect mobile apps to back-end services
  • Hands experience with the build tool Gradle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience with Android, Java, Java Script and UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Familiar with agile development practices.
  • Proficient with common Android Framework API's (Location, Camera, Notifications, Maps and etc)
  • Experience with offline storage, performance, thread management and code quality monitoring and tuning
  • Experience in using Fragments, Activity workflow, ActionBar Navigation, Menu designs and view controls, and Loaders - A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Hands on experience with code, deploying applications used by millions of users
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • Experience developing in other OO languages/frameworks is a big plus
  • Practical skills in Web services, content management, and Mobile development
  • User Interface design knowledge
  • Experience with Maven
  • Code versioning tools, such as Git, SVN Mobile IDEs: Android Studio, Intellij and/or XCode
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required, one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained
