The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance live on stage at our heritage theatre site here in Covent Garden, and reaching out to audiences across the UK and worldwide with our cinema screenings and content through other digital platforms. Central to our digital presence is our responsive website, which continues to grow and evolve, serving the digital needs of our audiences, customers and the ambitions of the organization. The website now accounts for over a third of the organization`s revenue and brings 450k monthly visitors.

We are now looking for an experienced Front End Developer to work on specific projects in the Royal Opera House digital portfolio. Working as part of the Digital Development team and operating in an agile environment, you will contribute to the evolution and progression of front-end code on a range of work. Your skills and experience will enable you to lead on the adoption of Front End frameworks and educate other team members on their use and best practice. You will be assigned to project work, working with Product Owners to turn designs and concepts into rich interactive user experiences. The position is offered as a permanent contract.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with these qualities

*Sufficient skills and experience to work with design concepts and develop front-end code, primarily HTML, CSS, Javascript and ARIA, plus at least one Front End Framework such as Angular JS,for a range of platforms

*A solid understanding of accessibility, usability and cross browser issues

*Experience of applying the core design concepts of grid systems and typography in a web context

*Ability to incorporate visual design and branding effectively

*Experience in an agile environment and good documentation skills (including version control)

*A related certification in the field of design, programming or development
